Cuore di Bue Tomato Garden Start

Our Experience with Cuore di Bue Tomato:

We grew Cuore di Bue for the first time this year and we were very happy with it. We were attracted to it because the name sounded interesting and the shape had character... not the uniformity of Siletz which is our main tomato crop. It is indeterminate so it needs the support of a trellis or cage. 

This tomato plant comes in a four inch pot hardened off to outside conditions and ready to be planted into a larger pot or in the ground.

Cuore di Bue is an Italian heirloom tomato whose name means "oxheart," a nod to its characteristically large, heart-like shape.  It's highly regarded for its internal quality: the flesh is exceptionally dense and meaty with very few seeds and a minimal amount of watery gel. This solid, low-moisture texture makes it an ideal tomato for slicing, as it holds its shape well in salads and on sandwiches. It's also a preferred choice for creating rich sauces and pastes. The flavor profile is typically mild and sweet with low acidity.
