Gold Nugget is the earliest cherry tomato in our garden and as an indeterminate tomato it continues to set fruit and ripen all summer long. It doesn't have the memorable taste of Sungold or sweet million or other August-ripening varieties but it is a tomato! It has a special place in our hearts because it is one of the first tomatoes of summer. We plant Gold Nugget out before the first of May (often in mid-April) and it begins ripening for us around the middle of July. It is a vining tomato that continues to spread so consider some kind of trellis or tomato cage to keep the chaos in check!
This tomato plant comes in a four inch pot hardened off to outside conditions and ready to be planted into a larger pot or in the ground.
