Our Experience with Italian Ribbed Zucchini Summer Squash
We grow Italian Ribbed (very similar, if not identical to Costata Romanesco) for all our squash needs. Whether we want zucchini bread, or baked squash these plants produce all summer. One year we even planted about 50 zucchini with the idea of selling squash blossoms... after we grew weary of picking the blossoms every morning we were inundated with squash.
This summer squash plant comes in a four inch pot hardened off to outside conditions and ready to be planted into a larger pot or in the ground. If it is still early May and the weather is cool, you can up-pot to a gallon container for a couple of weeks until the weather warms up.
