Our Experience with Siletz Tomato:

Siletz is a good all-around tomato for slicing or canning. It produces round tomatoes that average around three to a pound. Siletz is a short determinant bush tomato that ripens over a period of one to two months. It is parthenocarpic which means it has few to no seeds.

Siletz is bred for setting fruit during cooler weather. We plant it out before the first of May (often in mid-April) and it begins ripening for us around the middle of July. We have been growing Siletz for years and bringing them to the Lopez Island Farmer's Market. They are our most reliable tomato.

This tomato plant comes in a four inch pot hardened off to outside conditions and ready to be planted into a larger pot or in the ground.

Overview of Siletz Tomato from the Internet:

The Siletz tomato is an early-season, determinate variety developed by Oregon State University, making it exceptionally well-suited for cooler, short-season climates. It is highly regarded for its ability to set fruit in low temperatures, often producing some of the first ripe tomatoes of the season. This variety yields an abundance of deep red, 4- to 5-inch slicing tomatoes that weigh between 7 and 10 ounces. The fruit offers a rich, classic tomato flavor with good sweetness and a meaty texture. As a determinate bush-type plant, Siletz is a reliable and compact choice for both garden beds and containers.
